Between August 10th and the 19th, Crankworx 2018 is taking over Whistler for over a week of incredible mountain bike shows, contests, and general awesomeness.
The MIX will be all up in the action during the last few days of the event to give our viewers a dose of daily adrenaline.
For those unfamiliar with the iconic Crankworx World Tour, the event is a place where “ordinary humans perform the extraordinary and launch into the realm of the unimaginable, riding faster, climbing further, flying higher, and going bigger than what was once thought to be possible, taking on the world and the challenges set before them with seemingly superhuman power and passion.”
This year, the world tour will hit up cities all around the globe:
- Rotorua, New Zealand: March 17-25
- Innsbruck, Austria: June 13-17
- Les Gets, France: June 20-24
- Whistler, Canada: August 10-19
The tour ends off in Whistler for the 15th year of Crankworx competition. One of the notable events at Crankworx is the Red Bull Joyride course:
“Red Bull Joyride, is the season-defining conclusion of the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship and the Triple Crown of Slopestyle. Steeped in 15 years of tradition, this is the most challenging event on the circuit. Red Bull Joyride owns the owns the Boneyard at the base of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, offering up a centerpiece for the 10-day bout of mountain biking mania Crankworx has become. The best riders in the world bring their A-game interpreting a custom-built course known as the pinnacle of courses for its creative features and smooth ride.”
Although the event is still going on for a few more days, have a look at what’s in store. Check out the video above to watch Red Bull riders Tyler McCaul and Anthony Messere take us through this year’s Joyride course.
