Autumn is upon us which means that it’s time to gobble up the festive foods that are here to come. For anyone that is obsessed with pumpkin spiced lattes and need to add some more of that orange squash plant in their life, this list will lead you on the greatest pumpkin journey in Vancouver.

The Pie Shoppe

The most quintessential autumn-themed food item you could possibly think of is probably the classic pumpkin pie. At the Pie Shoppe, customers can grab a bite of this classic fall dessert. The company worked with over twenty farmers and producers to create a delightful Thanksgiving menu for the Autumn season. The Heirloom Sugar pumpkin spice pie is made up of golden brown sugar, sugar cane, fresh filled spices, heavy Avalon Dairy cream, and large brown free-range eggs from a neighbouring farm.

In addition to the pie, customers can also grab some other seasonal pies. Some savoury options include the Herb Roasted turkey or Roasted Veggies pies. As for the sweet options, folks can get the Spartan Apple Oat Crumble, Chocolate Pecan, and more!

Grounds for Coffee

Coffee isn’t the only thing available at this establishment. Grounds for Coffee is a pumpkin lover’s heaven! Here, customers need to check out the pumpkin frappe, latte, or cinnamon bun.

First off, the pumpkin frappe. This drink contains two shots of espresso, pumpkin-puree based sauce, and vanilla bean powder. It’s blended with ice and then topped off with some whipped cream.

If you have less of a sweet tooth, you may want to opt for the latte. This drink starts off with steamed milk poured over espresso and mixed with pumpkin-puree based sauce. Like the frappe, it’s topped with whipped cream.

If you’re feeling a little hungry, try out the pumpkin bun. This sticky sweet treat is a festive take on their world-famous cinnamon bun. It’s topped with a pumpkin pie spiced version of their house-made cream cheese icing.

Parallel 49 Brewing

Time to crack open a cold one with the boys. At Parallel 49 Brewing, customers can get the Schadenfreude Pumpkin Oktoberfest Lager to satisfy all of their pumpkin needs. The Schadenfreude uses pumpkin in the mash, traditional pumpkin pie spices in the brew kettle, and a large amount of Munich malt for that reminiscent pumpkin pie crust flavour.

But that’s not all Parallel 49 has to offer. Lost Souls is chocolatey take on a pumpkin brew. The drink is a robust Porter that uses large amounts of chocolate malts and pumpkin along with traditional pumpkin pie spicing in the brew kettle.

During the month of October, the Amaretto Pumpkin Pie Stuffie is available to devour. The donut is an amaretto glazed yeast donut, stuffed with nutmeg and ginger infused pumpkin pie filling, topped with spiced praline pecans, and a dusting of cinnamon. And yes, this is vegan in case you were wondering.

Other available seasonal doughnuts include the Dogwood Stout & Pretzel and the Black Sesame Mandarin, The first is a vanilla cake donut with a Dogwood Brew stout beer glaze, drizzled with dark chocolate and topped with house-made sea salt pretzels. The Black Sesame Mandarin is a yeast donut with a black sesame glaze with mandarin orange drizzle and topped with black sesame snaps. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available for the BSM.
