Environment Canada Issues Rain Warning for Metro Vancouver

The MIX Now

It’s going to be a wet Winter. Issued by Environment Canada, a rainfall warning is in effect for areas in and around Metro Vancouver.

This includes:

  • City of Vancouver – including Burnaby and New Westminster
  • Metro Vancouver – northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
  • North Shore – including West Vancouver and North Vancouver

Residents in the area can expect heavy rains for tonight and Thursday with totals up to 60 millimetres.

The rain is expected to ease on Thursday, but there may be a chance of flooding from what’s to come. Environment Canada also advises drivers to turn on their lights if their visibility is reduced from the rain.
