A Surrey man has been charged for second-degree murder in relation to the death of an elderly woman in Vancouver.
On November 24th, 87-year-old Elizabeth Poulin was found dead in her apartment on Kingsway and Kerr Street. The 23-year-old Surrey resident, Nicholas Dwayne Wallace, was arrested two days later on November 26th.
On Tuesday, a second-degree murder charge has now been approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service against Wallace in relation to her death. He currently remains in custody.
Investigators are still determining the motive of the death.
“This investigation is a top priority for the police. Based on the information collected so far, investigators do not believe that the public is at risk,” said VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard on Monday.
