Wakwak Burger Cart
Wakwak burger tops this list with their $2.95 hamburger. Yes, you read that right. You can still have lunch for under $3. And the best part? It’s so good.
Hungry Guys Kitchen
Hungry Guys is a salad and burrito bar with fresh AF ingredients and great portion sizes. If you’re craving healthy, cheap, and easy, this is the spot.
Bon’s Off Broadway
Another $3 special, Bon’s is an affordable must. This hidden gem has been part of Vancity locals’ breakfast scene since 1996 when Bon Wong bought the place. The epitome of a greasy spoon, get ready for bacon n’ eggs that’ll beat any hangover and an incredibly yellow diner-esque decor.

What’s Up? Hotdog!
Punk rock, vegan-friendly, and cheap as hell, there’s something for everyone (unless you’re a shit talking bro) at What’s Up? Hotdog! Their $3.50 happy hour runs from 3-6pm with different specials every day of the week. Try their loaded Matt + She’s dog and have zero regrets.
Bonus points: their staff loves baseball, PBRs, and tequila.
The Warehouse Group
The Warehouse Group includes The Capital on Davie St, The Moose on Nelson, The Dime (one on Granville and one on Commercial) and all the El Furniture Warehouses – The Famous Warehouse and The Hastings Warehouse – peppering our lovely city.
All of these spots are great in their own way, but most importantly, they all boast cheap eats. with menus full of $4.95 dishes, one can get at least three mains and still pay under $20. If you’re looking for a good time, each of these dive bars is a party scene on weekends.
Bin4 Burger Lounge
Looking for a date on the cheap? Check out Bin4 Burger Lounge after 9pm. If you buy a beverage, you get a burger for half the price. You can potentially get a premium beef burger and a bevvy for under ten bucks.
Bonus points: If you’re looking for a romantic sit-down meal, their service and ambiance is on point.
Another hidden gem, this place is squeezed into a concrete corner underneath the Stadium/Chinatown Skytrain Station, across from Rogers Arena. They’ve got $2.95 tacos filled with Korean BBQ but their Bulgogi Burrito is what’s up. Plus, you can’t go wrong with their $5 beers.
A local’s secret, Hawker’s Delight is one of the OG’s of Vans cheap foodie scene. It’s traditional Malaysian and Singapore fare, served hot in tight quarters – just like home.
This hidden gem boasts grilled cheese for $1.75 only, and their hotdog prices rival Costco’s. By far the cheapest on our list, Jack’s Place is a hot food counter hiding in Army & Navy on Cordova St.
Inside Army and Navy – 36 West Cordova Street, Vancouver
If you blink, you’ll miss it. Crave India is a tiny hole-in-the-wall on Granville St. You can get a curry dish for under $6, but be sure to grab on of their huge naan bread’s while you’re there. Crave India is tiny, so take out is highly recommended.

Editor’s Bonus Pick: H-Mart
You might have shopped at Vancouver’s downtown H-Mart before, but do you know about the secret-not-so-secret cafeteria tucked away into the back? Upstairs and to the left, the food court has a bunch of different ethnically-Asian options to choose from. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and, if you grab a window-seat looking over Robson street, it’s amazing people watching.
Bonus points: This lunch location hasn’t yet been discovered by Vancouver’s business crowd.
